RJ (who left half way through): "That was one weird movie. I don't know if you noticed, but I wasn't really into it."

June 22, 2003 Bourne Identity First movie club of the summer, complete with re-connected subwoofer, center channel etc. Matt Damon is rescued from the open sea with two bullet wounds in his back and a case of amnesia. He gradually learns that he is a CIA assassin as he is being hunted down by former associates.
JD - "Good movie! Great start for the movie club!"

June 28, 2003 Die Another Day (Paul) Latest James Bond movie, with Pierce Brosnan, Halle Berry. Preceded by Fleischer brothers "Out of the Inkwell" animations.
ST - "Wow! That was incredible technology!... but did it mean anything?"
ST - "How did that Icarus thing get shut off?"
PM - "I was disappointed in Halle Berry"
MT - "so what did you think of the movie?"
AM - "no comment"

July 12, 2003 Panic A middle aged hit man (William Macy) employed by his father (Donald Sutherland), undergoes a mid life crisis. With Tracy Ullman as his wife, Barbara Bain as his mother, and Neve Campbell as the "girl".
JM - "I really liked it. But do you know what happened to the girl?"

July 12, 2003 (2nd feature) Destry Rides Again 1939 western with Jimmy Stewart as an unconventional lawman hired to clean up the rotten town of Bottleneck and ends up reforming Marlene Dietrich too.
RJ - "it showed how you can use wit and humor and a minimum of violence to beat the bad guys"

September 5, 2003 Chicago Best picture award winner. Muscial based on the original by Bob Fosse, in which Catherine Zeta-Jones, Rene Zellweger and Richard Gere show that they can sing and dance. Queen Latifah was probably not a surprise.

September 18, 2003 To Be or Not To Be 1942 comedy directed by Ernst Lubitsch with Carole Lombard and Jack Benny as the stars of a drama troupe in wartime Warsaw.
JD - left after 5 min "I don't like those kinds of movies. When it's about 3/4 through, I wonder why I'm watching this"
AD - "That was really good!"
