The refrigerator: it hasn't been working. A repair guy from RD Crane found that the fan which blows cold air from the coils into the refrigerator had broken off: freezer unit - fan motor without fan - broken fan. He ordered the fan on June 11, but it hadn't arrived by today, so we tried to fix it ourselves! We glue gunned the fan back on, but the refrigerator still wasn't getting cold enough. We ended up taking apart most of the insides and clearing out ice and drying off water - 1 - 2. And by next morning, the refrigerator was cold again. Success!

New project - what is in this box??? 1 - 2 - 3 - 4. Trying to figure out how to use it. -- info

September 19: The street lamp has been burned out all summer and it has been difficult to negotiate the steps between the street and house. This LED lamp goes on for 10 seconds then automatically shuts itself off. Circuit 1 -- 2. Not quite ready for prime time, but a good project for next summer (also for path to flylab).

September 20: A hen in the front yard! 1 - 2 - Cleaned (more or less) - veal - bbq vegetables - tomato salad - cookies (by MT; actually, the non-burned ones tasted good!)

September 21: Smoked bluefish, baby bok choy, mushrooms, basmati. - Rachael and Tom - Rindy and Joe.

September 22: Another dinner - miso soup with hen of woods - mushrooms with tofu umeboshi sauce - sashimi - fried eggplant with edamame sauce

October 5 - how to make Borscht, by Slava Nikolaev (as recalled, hopefully correctly, by MT a week later). Heat some water with some meat in it (in this case pieces of pork we found in freezer). chop onions. saute onions. saute carrots. grate beets. saute beets. chop cabbage, add to water. after 10 min, chop potatoes, add to water. after 10 min, add sauteed onions, carrots, beets. cook 5 min, then it's ready

October 6 - leftovers for lunch before driving off - cutting mushrooms - borscht - ratatouille - blini - Slava and Rindy

October 7 - the Sunfish - I guess we're leaving it on the yacht club beach once more - it's close to the yacht club - view towards yacht club - view away from yacht club - drain underneath (for identification) - forgot to take picture of deck, it is bright blue so it should be easily identifiable. sail in basement
