We used a Pentax Optio W30, a waterproof digital camera. Rachael had the original idea of putting it in the tank to get a worm's eye view of egg collection, etc. After considering quite a few candidates for music, Rachael finally hit upon "Mean Old World" by Sam Cooke.

Scenes:
Waquoit Bay - Rachael and Mark
Worm sorting - Jens
Into incubator - Jessica
Out of incubator - Doreen
Looking for eggs - Marcin, then Elena
Worm collecting - Bob
Sperm collection - Chris
Take to dissecting scope - Steve
Dissecting scope and polytron - Marc and John

Unfortunately, Leon left a bit early, and we were unable to have a thermometer scene!

Technical
The sequences were filmed September 26 (waquoit bay), 27 (Marc and John) and 28 (everyone else) and edited in Final Cut Express (Macintosh), with a world premiere around 11:30 pm Sept 28. Tumbling in Jens' scene was done by slowly rotating the camera then speeding it up in editing. In order to fit the video to the sound track, the walking scenes (e.g. from tank to incubator) were all speeded up ~2.5x. Also, the sound track was slowed to 95% speed to get it to end at the right point(!) The dissecting scope scene was done using masking. It would look better to use a "live" mask for the dissecting scope instead of a still, but we just ran out of energy.
