You can get onto the Cape by driving over either the Bourne Bridge or the Sagamore Bridge. If you a driving from route 495, see next paragraph. Otherwise, you will probably be driving down from Boston on route 3. There is a rotary just before the Sagamore Bridge. Depending on where you get off of the rotary, you can go over the Sagamore Bridge or go along the Cape Cod canal to the Bourne Bridge. If you go over the Sagamore Bridge, there is a rotary just after the bridge. The trick is get on route 6 going west. Watch for the signs, and if you miss it, just go around the rotary a second time. Good luck! Route 6 will take you along the south side of the Cape Cod canal to the rotary that is just after the Bourne Bridge. Instead of going over the Sagamore Bridge, the other option from the rotary just before the Sagamore Bridge is to take the branch of Route 6 which goes along the north side of the Cape Cod canal. You would then cross over the canal on the Bourne Bridge.
If you aredriving from from route 495 or the route 6 diversion described above, you will cross over the Bourne Bridge. There's a rotary just after the bridge. Go on Route 28 to Martha's Vineyard / Woods Hole. There's a second rotary after about 5 min - just continue on Route 28. After another 10 min or so, the divided highway will end and you will be driving along a normal two way street. After you have passed two or three gas stations as well as a parking lot for the Martha's Vineyard ferry, there is a Gulf station on the right. Just after this, there is a fork in the road - take the right fork to Woods Hole / Martha's Vineyard. This is Woods Hole Rd. The other fork is the continuation of Route 28 which goes to Falmouth.
Once you are on Woods Hole Rd, there are two ways to drive to the Hyatt. There is a map, and a description below:
Probably the more fail-safe way is to drive into Woods Hole on Woods Hole Rd. This is four miles, with a traffic light at about two miles. As you drive into town, you will see the ocean on the left and signs for the Martha's Vineyard ferry. Drive past the bank and post office and take a right turn on School St. Go past Eel Pond on the left. After a short while, you will see a golf course on the right, which is the sign to start looking on the left for Hyatt Rd. Turn left on Hyatt Rd. The Hyatt is #28 on the left, it is the second house before the first intersection (with Whitman); it may also be recognizable because it is on a slope and is lower than the other houses before it relative to the street.
The other way is to drive down Woods Hole Rd, and turn right at the traffic light mid-way to Woods Hole (this is about 2 miles from the Route 28 turn off). A very short distance away, at the next intersection (a four way stop), turn left onto Quisset Ave. Drive on windy narrow pleasant road this for 1-2 miles. You will see a large golf course which at first is present on both sides of the road. After a short while, there is a residential area on the right, at which point, you can start looking for Hyatt Rd. Turn right on Hyatt. The Hyatt is #28 on the left, it is the second house before the first intersection (with Whitman); it may also be recognizable because it is on a slope and is lower than the other houses before it relative to the street.
